Brighton boss Poyet raps Leeds chairman Bates over Grayson sacking

Brighton boss Gus Poyet has rapped Leeds United chairman Ken Bates for sacking Simon Grayson.

Poyet has been linked with the post, as have out-of-work Neil Warnock and Dave Jones.

Former Leeds assistant Poyet said: "I'd go back to Leeds at any time but of course not right now.

"I didn't understand the decision to sack Simon. I like Ken Bates a lot but I'm sorry, Ken - wrong.

"You are only able to base your opinion on the results. Simon's record at Leeds is very good, so I don't know if it is something we don't know.

"Maybe that is the only situation but he's the chairman, he makes the decision. We'll see what happens."
