Brighton boss Potter: I should be playing Murray more

Brighton boss Graham Potter admits he could've used Glenn Murray more this season.

Murray signed a new 12-month deal this sweek.

Asked whether he had under-used Murray, head coach Potter said: “Quite possibly. That's the beauty of hindsight, everyone is wise after the event.

“We've had times when we've used Neal Maupay and Aaron Connolly and not used Glenn as much.

“Hopefully the good thing about whatever decisions we've made is that we've now got a player who is very hungry, a player who hasn't got a lot of minutes in his legs up to this point and so can go in and hit the last 13 matches in a really good way.

“In my job you can't be in denial, if you have ever made a mistake or you could do something differently then you need to be able to see that, because that can help you improve and move forward.

“That's the approach I have always taken in my career."
