Former QPR chief Flavio Briatore has backed AC Milan's swoop for Adel Taarabt.
The midfielder has joined on-loan from QPR with the option to sign permanently for €7 million.
"I know him well, he was what saw my QPR make the jump to the Premier League," Briatore told Gazzetta dello Sport.
"He is a phenomenon. Milan has made a great deal. But he is a talent that must be managed. With us, at QPR, Gianni Paladini was the ds and had a great relationship with him, he was close to him.
"He is a boy who must be protected, pampered. I was the one to buy him from Tottenham. And he is one who plays equally on the left and right, he is strong in set-plays. I spoke well of him to Galliani, because he deserves that."
