Brescia sporting director Giorgio Perinetti admits he's baffled by Christian Eriksen's problems at Inter Milan.
The midfielder has struggled since his January arrival from Tottenham.
"Eriksen has important qualities, he is an excellent player. However, he is failing to express them. I don't know if it's the league he can't adapt to or Inter, but everyone expected something different from him," Eriksen told TMW.
“We thought we would see a classic, whimsical playmaker who solves the toughest match for you with a classy play but he is not this type of footballer.
“He has excellent technique, is a quick thinker and is an excellent set piece taker and can shoot from outside the box but he is not a classic number 10."
In conclusion Perinetti explained: “I'm not saying he's not a suitable player for Conte, he's simply a different player from what the collective imagination expected.
“He could become a good central midfielder, but he has no matchmaking skills. He lives in limbo and that is condemning him to playing a supporting role."
