Brentford have signed Reading goalkeeper Ben Hamer and Chelsea defender Adrian Pettigrew on month-long loan deals.

The pair move to Griffin Park on the eve of the 2007/08 as manager Terry Butcher continues to bolster his squad.

Hamer, 19, spent last season with non-league Crawley, while the 20-year-old Pettigrew played for Chelsea against the Bees in a pre-season friendly earlier this summer.
