Brentford boss Thomas Frank has left the door open to securing Pontus Jansson to a new deal.
It's no secret that Malmö FF are trying to tempt Jansson, 31, back to Sweden this summer, when his contract expires.
However, Brentford have an option to extend the centre-back's contract.
And Frank says: "We are talking about (an extension) to see if it could be a possibility. We like Pontus, Pontus thrives here. So it's an ongoing discussion with a positive focus.
"Right now he is injured, so we would like to see him come back fit and healthy.
"Then I'm sure his agent and Phil (Giles, Brentford's sporting director) will talk about it."
