Brentford boss Frank: I was late for first Prem game because of my f****** parents!

Head coach Thomas Frank told reporters that he arrived late to Brentford's first-ever Premier League match two seasons ago.

The Danish manager is a fan favourite with the London outfit, having brought them up into the Premier League and helped them maintain their position as a top flight club.

Since taking over from Dean Smith in 2018, Frank has seen Brentford go from strength to strength.

“I had to pick up my parents from the airport," Frank told The Athletic's new podcast special, Access All Areas: Brentford, when asked about their first Premier League game.

“They were a bit delayed and we were running a little bit late. I was thinking "f****** hell, arriving late to the first Premier League game to pick up my f****** parents".

“Sorry for my language," he added.

“I went into the backroom and all the media in the world was there lining up… and then we went out and beat Arsenal, huh? Easy."
