Brady insists West Ham did not want to sell Tottenham signing Parker

West Ham United vice-chairman Karren Brady insists they wanted Scott Parker to stay.

Parker moved to Tottenham on transfer deadline day this week.

Brady wrote in her diary for The Sun: "West Ham let Scott Parker move to Spurs on a frantic last day of the summer transfer window.

"The club didn't want him to go nor did the fans but Parker felt at 30 he needed better than the Championship. So he leaves with our blessing and thanks for being such a fine player and decent man."
