Bradford City have proposed an improved contract to manager Phil Parkinson.
Parkinson has over a year to run on his current Bantams deal but the League One club are eager to keep him at Valley Parade for the foreseeable future.
Bradford co-owner and chairman Mark Lawn told the Daily Star that the West Yorkshire outfit are determined to hang onto the man that has guided them into the FA Cup quarter-finals courtesy of giant-killing wins over Chelsea and Sunderland in order to stave off Premier League interest.
"Phil doesn't want to leave, I don't think, and we don't want to get rid of him. We've always been able to talk to each other so we'll just see how things go," said Lawn.
"I am a great believer in getting each season over with at a time. Then we will talk. If he wants to start talking in the summer then that's what we'll do."
He added: "I can't stop other clubs being interested in him though. So why worry about something you can't do anything about?"
