Boyd disappointed when Rangers didn't return call prior to Portland Timbers move

Portland Timbers striker Kris Boyd has admitted he was slightly disappointed when Rangers did not call him back to tell him of their plans.

The 28-year old Scotsman departed Turkish club Eskisehirspor in December and was keen on a return to Ibrox but after making contact with him upon him being back in Glasgow, 'Gers did not inform Boyd of what they planned to do which he admits hurt.

"Rangers were the first club my representative got in touch with after I left Turkey. But we didn't hear anything from them," he told SunSport.

"For weeks everyone was talking about me returning to Ibrox. But no one took the time to call, even to say it wasn't going to happen.

"I'm not going to lie, that stung at the time I thought I at least deserved a phone call. But now, in the grand scheme of things, it's not the least bit important."
