Bournemouth star Solanke admits point to prove after Liverpool, Chelsea failures

Former Liverpool striker Dominic Solanke says that he has a point to prove in the Premier League.

The ex-Liverpool and Chelsea man failed to make the grade in the top flight during earlier stints.

Now he is likely heading back to England's top division as Bournemouth chase promotion from the Championship.

Asked if he has a point to prove, he told Sky Sports: "For sure. I am in a much better position now than I was previously. I'm definitely looking forward to hopefully getting back there [the Premier League] and showing what I can do.

"The quality in our squad is probably one of the best in the league. Automatic promotion and trying to fight for top spot has definitely been the goal from day one. It is always going to be difficult towards the business end of the season.

"On a personal note, I just need to try and carry on what I've been doing the majority of the season. If we stick together as a squad and all play our part, I think it is definitely there for us."
