Bournemouth have failed with a new offer for Stoke City goalkeeper Jack Butland.
The Mirror says the Cherries have made a £12 million bid to land England goalkeeper Jack Butland from Stoke.
But the Potters have rejected the offer as it falls well below their £20million valuation of the 26-year-old star.
Aston Villa are also in the hunt for Butland but Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe has stolen a march by slapping in an opening bid.
Howe wants Butland to be Bournemouth's new number one ahead of Artur Boruc and Asmir Begovic – but Stoke insist the star won't be allowed to leave the Bet365 Stadium on the cheap.
