AFC Bournemouth are believed to be pondering a surprise move for Monaco striker Dimitar Berbatov.
The Express suggests that the Cherries, who won the Championship title last weekend, are planning on making an audacious move for the 34-year old Bulgarian who is reportedly eyeing a return to England.
Bournemouth have constructed a summer hit-list of potential signings as they plan for life in the Premier League and it is believed that former Tottenham, Manchester United and Fulham ace Berbatov is at the top of that group of names.
With Monaco facing sanctions from UEFA for breaching Financial Fair Play rules, Berbatov could become available on a free transfer which would suit Bournemouth perfectly, although they would need to meet his salary demands of around £100,000-a-week.
