Bournemouth are chasing Sunderland striker Jermain Defoe.

The Sunday Mirror says Bournemouth will attempt to sign Defoe if Sunderland lose their relegation battle.

Promotion to the Premier League means Eddie Howe will try to sign at least three experienced players in key positions this summer.

And 32-year-old Defoe, who netted Sunderland's second in their 2-0 win against Everton, is emerging as one of their top targets.
