Bournemouth alerted as Berbatov prepares to leave Monaco

Premier League new boys AFC Bournemouth have been alerted by reports that Dimitar Berbatov is set to leave Monaco.

The Bulgarian striker has been released by the French club who have told him they will not renew his contract this summer.

Bournemouth have already been linked with a move for former Tottenham, Manchester United and Fulham forward Berbatov but now they can approach him as a free agent.

34-year old Berbatov, who joined Monaco in January 2014, could be the kind of big-name player the Cherries need for the first season in the Premier League but his wages may prove to be stumbling block.
