Bothroyd keen to challenge QPR record signing Remy

Jay Bothroyd sees the arrival of Loic Remy at QPR as simply another challenge for him personally.

The 30-year old is back at Loftus Road following a loan spell with Sheffield Wednesday and he is planning to force his way into Harry Redknapp's first team despite the club-record signing of Remy from Marseille.

"This was the opportunity I wanted," he said after scoring the only goal in the FA Cup third round replay win over West Bromwich Albion last night.

"Everyone knows Harry is a very honest man. If the club sign another striker, I will welcome the competition.

"Things didn't work out for me before now. But I want to stay with QPR and am determined to work hard for my spot."
