Botafogo coach Bruno Lage is delighted with their swoop for Diego Costa.
The pair worked together for a short time at Wolves.
Lage said, "I didn't talk to him, but I put a lot of pressure on him to come. We are pleased with Diego's arrival. He is a man of unity and comes to help, with a huge spirit to help the team, give advice to the most young people.
"A fantastic job was done to bring a man and a player who will help us to get better and better.
"Can he play with Tiquinho Soares up front? It's one day at a time. Let's see how he fits. All I know is that we have a great player. I already knew him and this team was full of good players. If you asked who could play as a striker, a third would say Carlos Alberto, a third Eduardo and a third Janderson. The players give a tremendous answer."
