Wigan Athletic warmed up for their opening Premier League fixture at home to Blackpool with a 3-1 win at Dundee United.
Mauro Boselli, the 25-year-old Argentinian striker signed this summer from Estudiantes, netted twice in an impressive display for the Latics, opening the scoring with a calm finish in the 34th minute and adding a second at the start of the second half with a diving header from Maynor Figueroa's excellent cross.
And Boselli played a part in their third as well, knocking the ball down for Victor Moses to smash a glorious shot into the top corner from 20 yards late on.
Danny Cadamarteri grabbed an immediate consolation for Dundee United with another fine effort but Wigan already had the game sewn up.
