Borussia Monchengladbach are reportedly eager to sign Chelsea loanee Andreas Christensen to a permanent deal.

The 19-year-old defender has impressed during the first half of his two-year loan spell at the Bundesliga outfit.

The Daily Mirror is reporting Monchengladbach believe Christensen is a player the club can build their future around and are considering tabling a £4million for the Denmark international.

"Andreas is a player we have identified in staying here long-term," Monchengladbach boss Andre Schubert said.

"Hopefully there will be talks between all parties."
