Borussia Dortmund happy for Man Utd, Bayern Munich to drive up Lewandowski price

Manchester United remain in the hunt for Borussia Dortmund striker Roberto Lewandowski. The Daily Mail says United's pursuit of Lewandowski has suffered a double setback after Pep Guardiola targeted him as his first Bayern Munich signing and Borussia Dortmund set the asking price at £25.5million.

Sources in Germany insist United are still in the race to sign Lewandowski at the end of the season but face an uphill task after Guardiola ordered Bayern bosses to try and land the Dortmund striker in time for his arrival at the Allianz Arena in the summer.

The prospect of a straight fight between Bayern and United has convinced Dortmund they can hold out for 30million euros (£25.5million) for the Poland frontrunner, even though his contract has only one more season to run.
