Bordeaux vice-chairman admits they've held talks with Chelsea striker Giroud

Bordeaux vice-chairman Frederic Longurpree admits they're making a late winter market move for Olivier Giroud.

The Chelsea veteran is eager to get a move away before Friday's deadline and Longurpree has revealed their interest.

He told RMC: "We need additional profiles. The Girondins have managed to attract a player like Laurent Koscielny, which proves the club's ability to recruit this type of profile. Obviously, a player like Olivier (Giroud) would be a fantastic player for the club.

"There are discussions with many players. There may have been some with Olivier. At this stage, they no longer exist. But there were indeed discussions."
