Stoke City are involved in a battle with Sevilla in the race to sign Bordeaux forward Diego Rolan.

Stoke manager Mark Hughes is keen on consolidating on his side's fantastic 9th place finish last campaign and the Welshman is looking to strengthen his squad this summer.

According to reports from the Stoke Sentinel, the Potters are eyeing a move for Rolan who managed 15 goals in Ligue 1 last season and could prove to be a bargain signing at a reported fee of around £3.6million.

However, Europa League champions Sevilla are also said to be interested in the services of Rolan and Stoke will have to move quickly in order to land the services of the 22-year old.
