Bolton's Muamba to be fitted with pacemaker

Bolton Wanderers midfielder Fabrice Muamba is set to be fitted with a pacemaker.

The Daily Mail says Muamba is to be fitted with a special defibrillator pacemaker in case he suffers another cardiac arrest.

The Bolton midfielder is expected to undergo the minor procedure before he leaves the London Chest Hospital this week and returns to his home in the north west.

His cardiologist, Dr Sam Mohiddin, confirmed: "What has happened may happen again and, therefore, if there's any risk you want a safety net."
