Bolton Wanderers are determined to prise Beram Kayal away from Celtic.
The Daily Mail says the Trotters are prepared to double their valuation of the midfield enforcer after speculation about a move to the Reebok Stadium started at £2m.
But Celtic rate Kayal as crucial to Neil Lennon's plans and remain hopeful of securing the player on a new contract until 2015.
The Parkhead boss has publicly promised Kayal a significant increase on the £8,000-per-week wages agreed when he arrived from Maccabi Haifa last year for a fee of £1.2m.
Manager Owen Coyle and the Bolton hierarchy believe around £4m would represent a fair price for a player who currently has little experience outside the confines of his home country and the SPL.
