Bolton push for deal over New York Red Bulls defender Tim Ream

Bolton Wanderers boss Owen Coyle hopes to close a deal for New York Red Bulls defender Tim Ream.

Coyle has lined up USA defender Ream as a replacement for Chelsea-bound Gary Cahill.

Coyle handed Ream a one-week trial with the Barclays Premier League strugglers and has been suitably impressed with the New York Red Bulls centre-half.

He now hopes to complete a £2million deal with the Major League Soccer club for the 6ft 1in international when the January transfer window opens.
