Bolton granted permission to open talks with Man City winger Wright-Phillips

Bolton Wanderers boss Owen Coyle has been handed permission to open talks with Manchester City winger Shaun Wright-Phillips.

The Mirror says City chiefs say he can leave immediately but Roberto Mancini wanted to keep him until he can make a move for Tottenham's Aaron Lennon.

Wright-Phillips's camp are looking for a four-year deal on his current £60,000-a-week but Coyle hopes to persuade him a switch will be good for his career if not his bank balance.
