Bolton Wanderers are set to land Birmingham City midfielder Fabrice Muamba in a £5.5 million deal.

The Guardian says Gary Megson, the Bolton manager, has been keen to add more athleticism to the midfield area and it has emerged that Muamba, who joined Birmingham from Arsenal for £4m last summer, is his primary target. The 20-year-old is expected to agree personal terms and a four-year contract at the Reebok Stadium within the next 48 hours.
