Bolton Wanderers are chasing Newcastle United winger Sammy Ameobi.
The Evening Chronicle says Ameobi is on the wish-list of Trotters boss Dougie Freedman.
Wanderers could push to get a deal tied up in time for their opening game of the season with Burnley on August 3.
