Bolton Wanderers boss Owen Coyle is delighted with the impact made by on-loan Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere.
Wilshere struck in yesterday's victory over West Ham United.
"West Ham were certainly keen on him," said the Reebok chief. "There were a number of Premier League clubs after his services and rightly so.
"He is a player who would have fitted into the West Ham style and shape. We got him through perseverance. I had been in for him for a long time, primarily for Burnley.
"But when we moved I still believed he could come and help us and we could help him.
"We made our intentions clear all the way through. But it's fair to say he wanted to come. When the lad comes here you've got to convince him it's the right place for him and financially both clubs have to agree on the terms of the loan.
"There was a lot of hard work that went into it but I'm delighted we got him.
"There is always a concern when there are other Premier League clubs in and chasing him. But I retained the belief that if I can sit down with someone, one on one, then I have a great opportunity to convince them this is the right club to come to."
