Bolton boss Coyle remains at Muamba's bedside

Bolton boss Owen Coyle continued his vigil at the bedside of stricken midfielder Fabrice Muamba on Monday. Muamba remains in a critical condition in intensive care after he suffered a cardiac arrest during his side's FA Cup quarter-final at Tottenham on Saturday.

Coyle remained in London whilst most of the squad returned North, where he has been since Muamba was rushed to hospital, having stopped breathing at White Hart Lane.

"Today's a day that we wait and hope for continued improvement," said Coyle.

"We are all after the same objective; to see that lovely young man, who has such a fantastic smile. That's what we want to see again.

"When you look through what he's come through in his life already, he's a natural fighter.

"Also, he's a physically fit young man so I think those two things will be a source of help and encouragement."
