Bolton boss Coyle ponders bid for Chelsea striker Di Santo

Bolton Wanderers boss Owen Coyle is focused on signing a new striker.

The Bolton News says Coyle will make a new striker his priority, with Portsmouth's David Nugent and Franco Di Santo, of Chelsea, two possible targets.

The Scot is an admirer of both players, in particular Nugent who took to Turf Moor 12 months ago on a season-long loan deal.

Coyle has previously distanced himself from re-signing Nugent, who Pompey paid Preston £6million for in July 2007, but, at the right price, he would almost certainly be interested in the 25-year-old forward as he looks to bolster his attacking options ahead of the new campaign.

Another possibility could be Di Santo, the 21-year-old Argentine who spent last season on loan at Blackburn.
