Bolton boss Coyle determined to land USA defender Ream

Bolton Wanderers boss Owen Coyle is pushing to land New York Red Bulls defender Tim Ream.

The Mirror says the American centre-half is getting married in his homeland this weekend, just as the Trotters are set to seal a £2.5million deal to buy him from MLS side New York Red Bulls.

Coyle, who's set to sell England defender Gary Cahill to Chelsea, wants to get his hands on Ream as soon as possible and Bolton will apply for a work permit once they get the official nod.

They may have to go to appeal, but are keen to have him at the club soon.

Ream's arrival has been delayed by haggling over his price, the fact that key MLS figures have been on Christmas leave and now his nuptuals, but Coyle thinks the 24-year-old is worth the wait.
