Bologna striker Alberto Gilardino is chasing an Italy recall.

Gilardino has hit five goals in five games so far this term.

"I want to give my best for this club and I would be happy if I was to then be called up into the national side," he stated.

"I would like to wear the blue shirt of Italy again, but it is not just down to me."
