Bologna president Albano Guaraldi has revealed that Alessandro Diamanti is persevering with a potential move to China.
The 30-year old attacking midfielder is hoping to land a shift from Italy's Serie A to Chinese Super League side Guangzhou Evergrande who is managed by Italy's World Cup-winning boss Marcello Lippi.
Guaraldi told tuttobologna.web that the former Livorno, West Ham United and Brescia man was still pushing for a move to China.
"Diamanti's motivation is justified. The player is continuing to pressure us, just as the Chinese club is pressuring us," Guaraldi said.
"I too have doubts, as I wonder if an unmotivated player can truly give his all."
Guangzhou had a highly successful 2013, winning the AFC Champions League, as well as the CSL domestic title for a third straight season.
