Stoke City assistant manager Mark Bowen has revealed that Xherdan Shaqiri will not be featuring in the midweek Capital One Cup clash against Luton Town.

Stoke take on the League Two side away from home in the second round league cup fixture on Tuesday night and Bowen has gone on to reveal that star man Xherdan Shaqiri will not be featuring following his debut on the weekend but Bojan Krkic could be making an appearance.

Bowen said: "He (Shaqiri) was very stiff yesterday and consequently won't be involved against Luton. We will be going down to Luton with a strong squad and there's four, five, six players who won't go down and will benefit from training here."
