Boavista keeper Mika confident of landing Sunderland move

Mika has reportedly told Boavista teammates that he will still be joining Sunderland.

The 25-year-old goalkeeper is the subject of a FIFA appeal from David Moyes' Black Cats after his proposed transfer did not go through before Wednesday night's deadline.

It is understood that all the necessary paperwork was lodged prior to the 11pm deadline but was not processed in the system in time.

Sunderland are eager to go through with the transfer and according to Portuguese publication Record, Mika is confident of making the move to the Stadium of Light.

Mike was back training with Boavista on Thursday morning but is believed to have informed his colleagues that this Premier League transfer will still be finalised after the Wearside club applied for special dispensation.
