Paul Murray's Blue Knights consortium have again put themselves at the forefront of a potential Rangers FC takeover.
Ex-Ibrox director Murray had stepped back from the bidding process last week when it appeared that either US bidder Bill Miller or Singaporean businessman Bill Ng would be installed as majority shareholders.
But the Blue Knights and administrators Duff & Phelps met over the weekend with renewed discussions ahead of today's final deadline for offers, which is likely to be pushed back a further 24 hours. Murray and Miller want assurances from the Scottish Football Association and Scottish Premier League before finalising their deals.
Murray has also reportedly joined forces with Sale Sharks owner Brian Kennedy who has also been showing considerable interest throughout the entire bidding process.
