FIFA president Sepp Blatter insists his organization is not at fault for the current problem involving migrant workers in Qatar.
It has been reported that thousands of workers from around the globe have died while constructing the stadiums required to hold the 2022 World Cup in the Gulf nation.
Migrants from countries such as Sri Lanka, Pakistan, India and Bangladesh have perished while working in sub-standard conditions as Qatar prepares to have their infrastructure ready in four years' time but Blatter has made it vehemently clear that FIFA should not shoulder the blame.
"In Qatar they are working in big companies from Germany, France, England and other European countries and they are responsible for their workers - not FIFA," Blatter said.
Blatter's comments suggest that he feels FIFA is certainly not responsible for the welfare of the migrant workers as doubt over the 2022 Cup continues to linger.
