Blackpool have two deals coming to the boil.
The Blackpool Gazette says the Seasiders are close to agreeing deals for Swansea's Angel Rangel and Derby's Rob Hulse.
They may also raise their offer for DJ Campbell - the Leicester man remains Ian Holloway's top striker target.
"Various deals are being accepted and players are having medicals so with a bit of luck there will be one or two additions," said chairman Karl Oyston.
"But it has been a culture shock, that's the proper way of describing it for the manager and myself.
"I didn't think transfer fee and salary demands would be as they were.
"It's based on what we have financially rather than their value. We've discussed over 40 players now. But I think we'll get there, we always do.
"We just can't risk the future of the club or not develop the squad long term."
