Blackpool boss Holloway tables double record bids

Blackpool boss Ian Holloway has lodged two offers for new players.

The manager revealed that he has made bids for two players in excess of the record £500,000 the club paid Rangers for Charlie Adam last summer.

After Tuesday night's friendly in Crewe, Holloway told the Blackpool Gazette: "I offered more money today than I have ever done in my whole career - and I've been a manager for 14 years and have bought some decent players.

"We smashed our record yesterday with a couple of offers. That sums up what we are trying to do.

"So when people ask what is going on, basically I've been trying to find out who is available, if I like them, how they might fit in, what I had last season and what I am going to need this season.

"You don't need to be a rocket scientist to think about who we haven't got who scored in vital games for us."
