Blackpool boss Holloway disappointed to lose Burgess

Blackpool boss Ian Holloway has admitted they will miss the influence of striker Ben Burgess.

The centre-forward has joined Notts County.

"I wanted to keep Ben but someone offered him a two-year deal and he made that decision," Holloway said.

"We were going to offer him a deal whereby if he played he would be paid a lot more than he's getting at Notts County, but he goes with our best wishes. He played a big part.

"Having a big fella up front who can keep hold of the thing is a big help.

"Some of our fans didn't appreciate it and wanted him to run through and score from 40 yards. It's a shame we couldn't educate everyone in what he did do and how important he was to the team. We are going to miss him."
