Blackburn's Savage happy to end Bruce feud

Blackburn Rovers midfielder Robbie Savage has ended his feud with Birmingham City manager Steve Bruce.

Savage, who will be 33 on Thursday, quit City for Ewood Park in 2005 and was accused by Bruce of engineering the move.

Now the former Wales star says six months on the sidelines with a broken leg persuaded him to bury the hatchet.

Savage said: "Life is too short. Steve was good for me and I was good for him.

"He is a decent guy and somebody I have respected since he was the captain at Manchester United.

"When I was out with my broken leg, I had time to reflect on it all. So we decided to let bygones be bygones and shake hands."

Savage admits he is still troubled by the leg injury he suffered last January.

He said: "I had to go off last weekend because I got another whack on the shin. It's happening a lot."
