Blackburn's Samba happy at Ewood Park

Christopher Samba is happy to be known as "King Kong" at Blackburn Rovers.

"Everybody in the team calls me King Kong. I don't mind. It's because I am big," said Samba. "Benni McCarthy, Sav [Robbie Savage] and Aaron [Mokoena] started it and now the name has stuck.

"Being noticed isn't a problem for me because I live in Manchester and the people there are only interested in seeing Manchester United players. It doesn't bother me - I prefer a quiet life."

Samba has been a revelation since joining from Hertha Berlin where he played against current Spurs striker Dimitar Berbatov in the Bundesliga.

"The new contract is a reward for what I have done here. I have ambitions to win titles but I hope I can win things at Blackburn,' he said. 'Spurs have had an upsetting week but I don't think that will make it easier for us.

"Their league position is not a true reflection of how good their players are."
