Blackburn Rovers are hoping to sign James McClean on a season-long loan from Sunderland.
The 24-year old winger is unlikely to feature for Paolo Di Canio this season following the summer arrivals of midfielders Emanuel Giaccherini, Cabral, El-Hadji Ba and David Moberg Karlsson and could end up at Ewood Park.
Rovers boss Gary Bowyer is keen on adding McClean to his squad ahead of the Championship season which kicks off at Derby County this weekend.
