Blackburn turn to Ribeiro after Palace fullback Clyne breaks down

Blackburn Rovers are ready to sign Brazilian fullback Bruno Ribeiro.

The Mirror says Blackburn are signing Brazilian full-back Bruno Ribeiro after their original target Nathaniel Clyne got injured.

Rovers boss Steve Kean was planning a £2million raid on Crystal Palace for England Under-20 right-back Clyne, but he is out for six weeks after breaking a metatarsal.

The news is the second bitter blow of the summer for Clyne after Palace refused to let him play for England at the Under-20 World Cup in Colombia.

Rovers have now moved to bring in 28-year-old Ribeiro on a free transfer from Brazilian side Gremio Barueri.
