Blackburn striker Goodwillie pleads guilty to assault

Scotland and Blackburn Rovers striker David Goodwillie has pleaded guilty to assaulting a man in Glasgow, reports BBC News. The 23-year-old forward admitted attacking John Friel in the city's Queen Street on 3 November 2010 following an assault on Goodwillie's former Dundee United team mate Danny Swanson.

CCTV footage of the incident showed Goodwillie confronting Friel and punching him on the head and body.

The striker was told to expect a community service order when he is sentenced at the end of April.

The striker signed a four-year deal last August with Blackburn.
