Blackburn Rovers boss Paul Ince is stepping up his interest in Espanyol fullback Steve Finnan.

The Daily Mail says Blackburn are interested in bringing former Liverpool defender Finnan back to the Premier League from Spain in January.

Finnan, 32, signed a two-year deal with Espanyol after leaving Anfield in the summer but has been homesick and rarely figured in a poor season for the Barcelona-based club.
