Blackburn Rovers are ready to offer former AC Milan and Real Betis midfielder Johann Vogel a short-term deal.

The Sun says the Swiss international, 30, is without a club after leaving Real Betis last year and has been training with Rovers since the weekend.

Vogel is desperate to get fixed up as his country are co-hosts of Euro 2008 - and he is keen to try his luck in England.

Rovers are chasing a defensive midfielder after selling Robbie Savage to Derby.
