Blackburn's Usai targeting loan move

Blackburn Rovers goalkeeper Sebastian Usai suggests a loan move away from the Championship club will help greatly with his development.

The 22-year old Australian was signed by the Lancashire outfit in August last year and spent the first part of his time at Ewood Park recovering from an ankle injury before plying his trade in the reserves under Gary Bowyer.

Former North Queensland Fury shot-stopper Usai knows very well that he has to sit behind the likes of Paul Robinson, Mark Bunn and Jake Kean so feels it will be worth his while to try and get a loan deal to a lower league club to fast-track his growth as a senior player.

"This will be vital for my continued development over the next 12 months," he told au.fourfourtwo.com.

"It can be really tough for Aussies moving abroad to big clubs.

"Clubs will sign players with a view to the future so it can be years before they get an opportunity to play for the club they are actually contracted to."
