Blackburn Rovers have rejected an offer from Southampton for Adam Armstrong.
The Lancashire Evening Telegraph says Saints have seen a bid for Championship hotshot Adam Armstrong turned down.
There is no indication of the value of the bid, but it is believed that Southampton are one of three top flight sides interested.
Armstrong was the second-highest goalscorer in the Championship last season. He notched 28 times in the second tier, with only Brentford's record-breaker Ivan Toney scoring more.
Armstrong is viewed at Saints as a potential replacement for contract rebel Danny Ings.
